1st tattoo.
I got this done by Lexi at Spider Monkey Tattoo in Olympia. He’s absolutely great, very professional and fast as hell.
I am a writer and growing up reading Calvin and Hobbes made me want to be as literate as possible. Bill Watterson is also an artist who has a lot of integrity and skill, this is one of his most fantastic images, imo. I talked about getting this tattoo for probably 3 years before I actually did it.
Im a big fan of Alice’s Adevntures in Wonderland, as well as Through the Looking Glass. I found this picture drawn up online, and decided i liked it enough to get it as-is (I usually have my work personalized, so it was kind of a big deal). It’s the golden ratio and the result is 1.618, the number of perfection or phi. The divine proportion that can be found at many renaissance master pieces, including Monalisa. Represents for me the perfection of art, music and literature.

I got jack done for my 18th birthday. The Nightmare Before Christmas was my all time favourite movie as a child. Aside from that, I’ve always loved Jack. Making him look evil and sinister also ties into me because I’m a huge horror fan.
